5 types of prayers are mentioned in the Bible:
 

1. Blessing and Adoration prayer - acknowledging the greatness and majesty of God.

2. Thanksgiving prayer - thanking God because He has blessed you or someone else.

3. Praise prayer - giving God glory for what He's done and is doing, and giving Him praise for the victories given through Jesus Christ.

4. Intercession prayer - praying on behalf of the needs of our family and friends.

5. Petition prayer - asking God to fulfill a need in your life.
